What is CCTV Surveys Inspection?

Don’t wait for the next downpour to discover the problems with drains or pipe work, let SAS Drain Services identify any potential faults before they become a problem. Using CCTV camera inspection technology we can provide accurate diagnosis of both blockages and potential problems.

Over time drains and sewer pipes may deteriorate due to reasons such as ground movement, poor construction, tree root infiltration and household waste build up. SAS Drain Services use quality push rod cameras to provide video CCTV surveys and recordings of pipes, drains, and sewers at highly competitive rates providing an accurate and economic means to detect problems at the source.

Depending on pipe condition and layout our cameras are able to survey up to 60 meters in pipes ranging between 2 to 10 inch’s in diameter.

Pipe Inspection is also recommended before purchasing property, rectifying structural defective and poor workmanship in both old and new pipes can be costly consider the piece of mind that pipe surveying can bring before your next purchase

What CCTV can reveal

Fractured pipes – Pressure from above, such as a heavy vehicle driving over the ground, can cause cracks and fractures in your drainage pipes. Untreated, these will leak contents into the soil, which could result in further damage to the pipe or even subsidence.

Collapsed drains – Can be caused by the drains being badly built in the first place or a variety of other reasons. If left, not only are blockages likely, but subsidence and environmental damage are possible.

Tree roots – Roots seek out moisture so they can find their way through existing faults into the drains. Once the tree roots have entered the drain, other material will get caught in them, making blockages far more likely and frequent.

Benefits of CCTV Inspection

1.  Reducing bills

When the cause of your drainage emergency isn’t immediately visible, a CCTV camera will often help pinpoint the exact problem and get the job done much more quickly and efficiently. We’ll be able to see exactly what’s causing the blockage, enabling us to select the best tool for the job, get the work done faster and reduce the cost.

2.  Not just for an emergency

CCTV isn’t just useful for finding the source of a current drainage problem, it can help avoid future problems. A CCTV survey can spot issues long before they develop into something more serious. Over the years, normal wear and tear can see your drains suffering damage both from usage and from subsidence, tree roots or just poor construction. The earlier these are spotted the sooner they can be repaired.

3.  Before you buy a new home

If you discover a problem with your new home’s drains after you’ve bought it, it could prove very expensive. That’s why we offer property pre-purchase surveys, so that you can thoroughly check the condition
of the drains in your potential new home with a CCTV camera before you take the big decision to buy it.
